PostSubject: CDE where are we going ?   CDE where are we going ? Icon_minitimeTue Aug 21, 2007 12:17 pm

So I’m about to make a long post, if u hate those just stop here...

Let me start off by saying I have a great feeling about this guild, well the people in it ^^
I joined just recently, but I like it here already.
It’s not any secret that CDE aint a top PvE guild, and your not trying to be one either.
It’s a casual guild who tries to have fun, and do some of the endgame provided by blizzard. Problem we are experiencing by trying to do so, is the very common lack of healers and tanks. By being at the bottom of the food chain, doesn’t seem to make this any easier. Guilds much further in the PvE game are trying, on a day to day basis, to recruit those we lack, even within the guilds themselves.
We can’t avoid this, but we can do a lot of other things to make us more desirable to those who are already here, and to those who aren’t 

The guild has a general structure with a leader, some officers and some core members. It’s not a hierarchy, thank god for that.
I encourage you to be more concerned about your guild rank though. Part of being a desirable guild, who wants to succeed in PvE, is helping each other, and wanting to reach the same goals.

I noticed that the officers aren’t really the role models they should be. IMO an officer, or a core member, should be the first to offer help to guildies that needs fx kara prequest runs, or trying to improve one self for the benefit of the guild. I’m not saying its important to do instances 24/7 for others, but just cus you don’t need anything in a particular instance, doesn’t mean you cant help a guildmember, on the contrary, u should be “eager” to do so, to benefit the guild as a whole.

/rant off

This was very short, and I have a lot more thoughts on this ^^ Now your warned

Hi

Nice to hear you like it here. I love the guild celtic dragons and the new elite guild.

I get your point about officers not helping people to complete the prequest, however, we do help out when we can and we also need to go to instances for rep and better gear. Unfortunately, it is impossible for us to help everyone when they are online. I personally find it very difficult doing an instance because of constant whispers from both guilds. And the other officers get that also. We spend time arranging instances/raids, recruiting new members, answering whispers, trying to set up groups for instances, sorting out problems and arguments in both guilds - sometimes to the point where we cant play the game ourselves. Its not just taking people to instances that we have to do, its a lot more than that.

The point of both guilds is so that people can group up and help each other and do quests, instances and raids. I spend a lot of time trying to organise groups for people. This way they get to make friends also and the lower levels get more xp than us helping them.

I hope the other officers reply to this message (politely eagle!!!) and i am sure they will confirm how annoying it is for them to play with me when i have to constantly stop to sort out guild issues - which ofcourse I do not mind doing, i am here to help anyone who needs it.

I hope this message allows you to understand more.

I shud have stated my backgroud first I presume...

I Ran a guild for over a year at the beginning of wow, it even exists today.
I know what it takes of a gm, I used more than 50% of my online time handling guild issues, rather than just playing. I been part of a leading raiding guild on balnazzar , so have that perspective aswell ( we had everything on farm before naxx came out, then I stopped my prior char, it was just to much raiding in the end) anywho...

I know ur position, but I really do feel the guild lacks commitment, I might be wrong, Im new and I might not see the big picture. But my curse is, I get myself commited, and just want to do the best I can, and get the full potential out of the guild.

I love to hear moe perspectives on this matter.. officers and regulars Smile

Well, I just have to comment...

Ii is very nice to hear ppl liking the guild, that was the primary target when me and Hurl left our previous guild ages ago... We didn't like the internal fighting and too "joblike" gaming. That's why we wanted a casual guild.

That said, I have to completely agree with Hurl! (ok, ok, u ARE right for a change... hehe). I have had sessions of gaming were I could not play at all, standing in SW answering whispers and helping out... We do what we can, and as long as I have the capabilities, I try to help out. Doesen't always match the times of all others, but I try.

What we found out ages ago while we started questing together is, like Hurl said, that we get more XP as low levels if we group together in the same levels, and makes more rapid levelling. We did it, and we enjoyed it!!

Enough said... We need more ppl to the higher levels, and I am working on the tanking business...

See u there!

This isnt what the topic is about, at all..

But I feel I have to comment on it.

I never understood that part. I always got alot more xp/hour by soloing. I tried both, and it always seems like people are slowing u down when lvl'ing in grps.
Well thats me and my RL friends exp. What I can say of positive things about grp-questings, its more fun at times if ur into that ^^

hello all, i think its a key thing to have posts like this from time to time, it helps bring up a lot of good points for the guild, from bad to good, but when gaillen says the officers dont help out, i got to disagree, ive helped genedorf with dernholde and darkportal, also doone (fair enough his my brother IRL) in durnholde and darkportal, and if anyone asked a question that i know the answer to i will take 10 seconds out of my time and answer that, also i know Hurl is ALWAYS helping people out, but poeple may not see it as its always in whisper, theres been times when ive asked her a question and dont get a responce for 10 minutes.

but you also have to take into consideration that just recently two of our most valued officers left the guild for a 'better' guild who we thought were part of the furniture, so i think thats made us think 'oh sh*t, if they can leave, that means no one is safe' also we are new to the end level gaming in some aspects, and even if we can only sown one boss at kara i think thats something isnt it?

and as for getting more tanks and healers im gonna set that as my key goal for this week, i am suposed to be recruitment officer after all Very Happy

Mctoot

p.s sorry i didnt show up last night, got in at 6:00 and my work phoned me at 6:10 sorry for the late pull out.

I just wanted to submit my wiew to this discussion (as i'm only a member in this guild) to make sure every little voice is heard Wink

I LOVE this guild! The members are friendly and considerate. They're helpful and understanding, and (almost) everyone do their best to contribute. I've been in this guild the last few months, and i've never ever consiered leaving.

To you officers: u do a greate job! I just wish there could be more of u. It can be anoying when new people want to join, but cannot because no officer is online...

I know i speak for the majority of the members when i say that this is the best guild ever!

And Hurl: don't mind the bad things people are saying to u, u do a fantastic job. Thank u for making this game better than ever I love you

omg snufsipus, u will never know how much you have made my day, my week in fact lol. I am very touched by what you have wrote because people do not realise how much work goes into running a guild and helping people. Especially now we have the raid guild. People like you make it all worth while. Thank you so much xxx

Also, regarding the officers situation, we are working on that. As I am not in the Celtic Dragons guild so much now, I have asked all the officers to look for potential officers. So good to hear that they are doing a good job there also.
Thanks again
Hurl
